Ben (Will Smith) is an IRS agent who is deeply depressed after the death of his wife, and guilt-ridden for mistakes from his past.

He decides to kill himself, but to also help seven struggling individuals before doing so.

When he meets Emily (Rosario Dawson), a beautiful woman with a heart condition, he falls in love with her, complicating his plans of suicide.

Woody Harrelson also appears as a blind pianist who befriends Ben.

Bolt tells the story an American White Shepherd, Bolt(John Travolta) who plays a heroic dog in a hit TV show and has some trouble recognizing that he doesn't even have superpowers. This becomes something of a hindrance when he's accidentally shipped to New York, Bolt embarks on a cross-country quest, convinced that his person, Penny (Cyrus), remains in the clutches of evil back on that Hollywood soundstage.. From there he has to make his way home with the help of a manky old cat and an overweight hamster in a plastic ball.
At the end of the of the story he realizes that the true power of a dog doesn't lies in some sort of "super power" thing. However, it lies on his loyalty to the owner he loves.
